Common rail diesel engines now feature in most manufacturers’ diesel ranges giving higher performance with less emission. By increasing the rail pressure to 2000 Bar (29400 PSI) and with each injector able to operate on demand from the vehicle’s ECU, fuel is injected up to 3 times on one compression/exhaust stroke giving more efficient fuel usage and better performance. To meet the demands of new technology Gunson, has added the Common Rail Flow Meter for Bosch injectors to its range. The Flow Meter pipes connect to the return side of the diesel injectors and, once the engine is started, the level of return flow can be measured in the meter’s bottles, identifying under performing injectors. Fittings vary dependent on the make of the injector and an adaptor kit is available for Denso, C3, C1, Siemens C3 and Delphi injectors. All are supplied in blow-moulded cases for storage. The master kit with adaptors is expected to retail at £120.00, the standard kit for Bosch injectors (77051) £55.99, while the adaptor kit only (77054) is expected to retail at £70.00.
